Principal, Grissom Elementary

I am Ayasha Greene, and I am honored to serve as the Principal of Grissom Elementary School. I am passionate about creating a school community where every scholar feels valued, supported, and inspired to achieve excellence. I believe strong relationships, high expectations, quality instruction, and meaningful partnerships with families and the community are essential to helping every child succeed.

Outside of school, I am a devoted wife and proud mother of three. I enjoy arts and crafts, reading, and traveling to beautiful tropical destinations. These interests allow me to relax, express my creativity, and continue learning through new experiences.

Assistant Principal, Grissom Elementary 

Hi there! I’m Gazelle Robinson, a proud Houston native and fourth-year assistant principal who’s passionate about helping students grow and thrive. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Child Learning and Development from the University of Texas at Dallas and a Master of Education from the University of Texas at Arlington. I believe every student is capable of learning, and I’m committed to making sure they feel supported, challenged, and celebrated every step of the way.

Outside of school, I’m all about good vibes! Whether I’m discovering new food spots (Houston has the best eats, don’t argue with me!), curating playlists that keep me dancing through the day, or repping my beloved sisterhood as a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Education is my calling, but music, food, and fun keep me balanced and full of joy!

Assistant Principal, Grissom Elementary

I am honored to serve as the Assistant Principal at Grissom Elementary. With more than 13 years of experience in Houston ISD, I am passionate about supporting student achievement, developing teachers, and building strong partnerships with families and the community.

I hold a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction and most recently served as a Master Teacher within HISD's New Education System (NES), where I coached teachers, supported instructional improvement, and used data-driven practices to help increase student success. In 2023, I was honored to be recognized as the Houston ISD Teacher of the Year.

Outside of education, I am a former University of Tennessee track and field athlete and four-time All-American. When I'm not at school, I enjoy spending time with my two children, traveling, and making lasting memories with my family.

I look forward to partnering with our students, staff, and families to help every child reach their full potential.
